Carne Guisada
CARNE GUISADA
Servings 4-6

INGREDIENTS
- 2 lb. beef for stew, cut into chunks
- 2 tsp Pisqueya Adobo
- 2 tsp Pisqueya Sazón
- 1 ½ tsp Pisqueya Oregano Salt
- 2 tbsp Annatto oil (or ground annatto dissolved in oil)
- ½ cup NEW Pisqueya Simmer Sauce, or to taste
- 1 ½ cups low sodium beef broth
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 large potato, peeled and cut into thick chunks
- 2 corn on the cobs, sliced into 1 1/2 –inch wheels
- 1/3 cup pimento stuffed olives
- Fresh chopped cilantro
- Cooked yellow plantains and avocado slices, for serving

METHOD
1) Place the beef in a large bowl and season with Pisqueya Adobo, Pisqueya Sazón and Pisqueya Oregano Salt.
2) In a large pot, heat the achiote oil over between medium and medium high heat.
3) Sear the beef on both sides for about 3 to 4 minutes.
4) Lower the heat to médium.
5) Pour the NEW Pisqueya Simmer Sauce over the beef, mix well, and bring to a boil.
6) Add the potato, corn wheels, olives, and mix well.
7) Depending on the pot you are using, pour the broth and water until it covers the beef and veggies, and bring to a boil.
8) Partially cover the pot and simmer for about 40 minutes or until beef is super tender and you can mash the potatoes with the back of a spoon.
9) To thicken the broth of your carne guisada, mash a few potatoes, and mix well.
10) Sprinkle chopped cilantro over, and mix.
11) Serve with white rice, maduros and aguacate.
